"Mochabomb" [moh-kuh-bom]:(n) It's the hostname of my old workstation at Sun Microsystems many years back - from my favorite coffee drink - the mocha. The "bomb" part - perhaps a Freudian thing I felt about the dot-com days??

Who is Mochabomb? Mochabomb is mostly me, Gregg Lain. I work as a sys-admin full time, and on side too + web design. My first unix login was 1990, but I did not appreciate the power of that moment. I spent a few Friday nights back then dialed into the school mainframe, writing C programs while listening to Devo.

Yeah, that was cool.

After college, having worked a total of 6 years as a mechanical engineer, then as a loan officer - I learned three things:

1. I love tech
2. Sales is very hard, thus salesmen are worth every penny.
3. I am a nerd and its ok to admit I have no interest in sports.

When not hanging out with the family, or friends, active in my church, or geeking out, I work as a sys-admin. Its easy to geek out way too much at home, so need to curb that. Because I make a living on computers, I prefer not to use one for socializing too.
